678 Victoria Street - External

Challenge

With the internal refurbishment of this A-grade office building complete, a major overhaul of the external elevation was necessary to complete the make-over. It was important to maintain access to the building at all times as well as ensure that the restaurant and function center was presented well for its events.

Build

Working closely with both landscape architects and structural engineers, significant demolition works were required prior to constructing rendered curved retaining walls finished with new exposed aggregate paving and accessibility ramps. A new café was created in the building’s façade, with a feature canopy and new steel framed and timber seating to improve outdoor ambience. The landscaping was finished with new lawn and planting and the addition of two 6m tall signage totems that were craned into place

Safety

Rodine undertook the responsibility of OHS planning to ensure the safety and amenity of all tenants was maintained. Noise and dust was minimised and regular communication with building management was necessary to program works around the function center’s needs as it held multiple functions each week.
