Haileybury Science Building

Challenge

Returning to a Haileybury campus for the fifth consecutive year, Rodine was required to demolish and rebuild the Science building in the six-week period between the end and beginning of the next school year. Organising materials and trades through this traditional shut-down period was identified as a challenge.

Build

Stage one of the refurbishment works included the demolition of the existing Science building, entry and covered ways. It was imperative to have the structural alterations complete in the shortest possible time to ensure that finishing trades were given maximum manufacture time over the holiday period. Teachers and students returned to a bright and modern new building, new larger covered ways and a reconfigured entry.

Service

Through considered planning and ensuring that the critical tasks were completed well before Christmas, Rodine was able to concentrate on the finishing trades works without undue duress. Clear communication between the Rodine team, the architects and Haileybury’s facility management team ensured a successful outcome. The finished product was of Rodine’s usual high standard and was well received by the Haileybury community.
